    It is located in present day Turkey and its present name is Istanbul. Constantipole was the capital city of many famous empires like the Roman empire, Latin empire and Ottoman empire. The earlier name of the city was Bryzantin and it was named Constantinopole after the Roman emperor Constantine the Great.

    Between 5th century and 13th century, it was one of the wealthiest cities in Europe and is famous for its architectural masterpieces. The defence systems of the city was quite famous and it includes high walls surrounding the city.
