Explanation:

In order to avenge the enemy, the Japanese did an infamous act - forcing defeated US and Philippine troops to march 130 km from Bataan to Japan's most famous prison of war, O'Donnell. Such an act has been remembered in historiography as the Bataan March of Death. In the Philippine campaign, Japanese casualties amounted to 22,500 soldiers, including 9,000 dead, 500 missing and 13,200 wounded. The Defense Force had 25,000 soldiers killed, 21,000 wounded and more than 100,000 captured and stationed throughout the Philippines in Japanese war camps.
