The republican governments of the 1920s were more focused on businesses and lowering taxes and operating the government efficiently. There was less focus on social issues like during the progressive era.

    Explanation:

The 1920s signaled a return to a pro-business government and a return to the laissez-faire economic policies that were prevalent in the late 19th century. Andrew Mellon was the Treasury Secretary during Republican Harding's presidency and he believed that "the Government is just a business, and can and should be run on business principles." President Harding's administration lowered the tax rate and developed the first formal budgeting process for the federal government. This required the president submit a budget for approval from Congress each year.
