He maintained that women were not naturally inferior to men and that women should have a wider role in society. He was also sympathetic in his observations concerning the value placed on women's appearance and the prejudice women met as they aged.

    Explanation: Montesquieu was one of the greatest political phylosophers of eighteenth century. He is a French National known for his works on the separation of Power, he was also a French Judge he has a strong sympathy for women, their values and prejudice placed on them as they age, he spoke against the discrimination of Women and other oppressed class of persons.

    He believes that with separation of power no single individual will have too much power on his hands to oppress others.

He is not only known for the huge impact he made on the political landscape across different countries through his theory of separation of powers but also through his stance on the equality of women to men.

    In his Lettres Persanes published in 1721, he considered the possibility of women seeming naturally equal or inferior to their men counterpart and if women should be kept at a place all the time or be allowed to move freely and be in the company of who they want.
