During the World War 2, the US labor force mainly became dominated by women and minorities. This was because, the US took out white men from the labor force to fight in the war. This left vacancies for women as well as minorities who formed a major part of the labor force during the war.

After the war, however, the the labor force became male dominated. This was because the men who had come back from war were given jobs as labors so that they could earn. This led to the women and minorities taking a back-step after the war.
