    The Indo-European family is a group of related languages that are believed to descend from an hypothetical Proto-Indo-European language spoken between 5000BC and 2500BC.

    Some Indo-European languages (alive) are: English, Spanish, Hindi, Russian, Armenian, German, Lituanian, Polish, Portuguese. Extint Indo-European languages could be Latin or Hittite.

Major European and Asian tongues belong to it. They are spoken in Europe, Asia, the Americas. The Proto-Indo-European language is thought to come from a region in today's Ukraine, Southern Russia and the Caucasus, where it was spoken during a historic period that ends in 3400 BCE.
