What advantages and

disadvantages did the Continental Army have at the start of the American Revolution?

Disadvantage they where broke sick and understaffed

Advantages they knew the land they believed in what they fought for and George Washington was a good leader

Disadvantages:

- The Continental Army was unexperienced and it had to face the best trained army in the world:

- the colonists army faced a problem of supplies in the beginning;

- its equipment was inferior to the British troops' for a good part of the conflict.

Advantages:

- They were fighting for a just and noble cause, freedom for themselves and their country. The British just had to suppress another colonial rebellion;

- the Americans knew better the terrain and were better adapted to it and to the weather than the British were;

- after solving the supply problem, American supply lines were not as overextended as those of the English, who had to be sent food and ammunition from England.
