By defining citizens as anyone born in the United States, how did the 14th Amendment create future conflict?

A conflict that stems from the protections laid out by the 14th Amendment is the case of anchor babies: children born to undocumented immigrants in American soil, who are more or less used by their parents to "anchor" themselves in the United States.
