    Protection, Own culture and ideas

No trade, lack of development in technologies and languages.

    Explanation:

Isolation was positive for Ancient China because it prevented enemies or foreign powers from invading their lands. People were given sense of safety and security allowing China to expand without fear of invasion. It allowed China to focus on their innovations and food instead of protection and military power. A positive of being isolated would be that they only knew their own ideas and cultures and weren't exposed to other world powers and influence. This gave them ownership to explore their own technologies, beliefs, and ideas. Isolation allowed them to hold onto complex beliefs and a social structure system that was unique.

The negative impact was that it did not provide valuable connections with neighbouring civilizations. This deprived them of technologies, languages, and innovations. Trade routes did not exist so the opportunity to trade goods was not available. The benefits of importing valuable goods and resources from outside of their borders restricting their development and growth in technologies with the rest of the world.
