    A slave named Tituba, (I'm pretty sure)

    Explanation:

    Tituba was a person in Massachusetts who was owned by Samuel Parris. She practiced things similar to voodoo, but considered as witchcraft. She confessed to doing so and lived on. Little girls also claimed to be bewitched by Tituba in the town, as the girls we acting weird.
