Based on what you've learned, how does American culture compare to a salad bowl?

There are many differences between groups of people in America, but they mix together well, like a salad.

There are many different colors in a salad, and there are many different races represented in American culture.

There are usually some parts of a salad that people like, and some they don't, just like most Americans feel about other cultures.

There are many vegetables in a salad that makes it a healthy choice, and diversity in American culture is also "healthy" for the United States.

The fact that there is diversity in the American culture is healthy as vegetables in a salad because the result is healthy. No other nation has such a number of states, each with people from different origins, fighting together to make America what it is today, the strongest nation of the world. Is it not strenght that people look for when they think about a healthy diet? Diversity made America into a group of different people mixed together creating a glorious land to live in.

Others say the country is a "salad bowl." You can still find the differences between groups. Yet they go together well, like the parts of a salad.
