Marxist philosophy was a more communist based philosophy, (he created communism) and entailed the working class revolting against the upper and middle class to create one social class and no single ruling leader, the working class was to lead the country and everyone was intended to be equal. In the Leninist side, it was based on the Marxist philosophy, but loosely followed his rules on government. He ruled the country as a dictatorship until he died and passed on his power to Stalin.
