How did the love and black elite gain financial security during the antebellum period

It all depended upon the area or the region where the people resided at that time, as in the southern regions there were some black Americans, who had the freedom to speak for there rights along with that they also fought for the rights of other individuals. They owned many lands, farms and some even had slaves. So, they had some financial security in the southern region.

However, it was not the same case for the black Americans in the north as they face great difficulties in living a peaceful life, they were treated as inferiors and were not allowed to do any business there.
