The 4000 silent graves were an example of the cruelty of General Winfield Scott towards the aboriginal Cherokees.
Explanation:
The summer of 1838 rose to be the worst for the Cherokee Indians. Their clashes with the American Army that was trying to clear the lands off Cherokess inhabited by them for centuries resulted into a great loss to the side of Cherokees. Over 4000 Cherokee men were killed brutally by the American Army. The Cherokees who were fighting for their land with weapons like swords and spears were fired at with guns and killed to make them flee to elsewhere.
