    The pan-African nationalism was formed to highlight the commonalities of Africans. Unity of Africans was highlighted as the force to make the continent economically strong. A strong economy meant independence from colonial masters. This movement awakened the spirit of nationalism within individual nations resulting in certain African fathers such Kwame Nkruma of Ghana agitating & fighting for self determination.
