Why did many immigrants choose to live in cities as they entered the United States in the late 1800s or early 1900s? a) Their visas required them to do so. Jobs, family, and friends were there. b) Cities reminded them of home. c) They wanted to participate in city politics.

    Immigrants during this period found a more conducive environment in the cities as opposed to rural communities in America at the time. They had jobs and more opportunities to look out for in these areas which they couldn't get in the rural areas. Also there families and friends were in the cities as they too had to settle for opportunities in the city.
