    Explanation:

    Situated at the inlet of Hudson River at the joining place of New Jersey and New York, Ellis Island served as the immigration station for many foreign countries since 1892-1954.

    It has witnessed many foreign immigrants to enter the USA. Most of the immigrants were from Eastern and Southern Europe. Many other countries also entered through this island, such as - Britain, Germany, Ireland, few more from Northern and Eastern Europe and many more.
