Blitzkrieg is a popular name used for an operational military doctrine based on the use of mobile attacking forces which used speed and surprise factors to establish a good defense in a timely manner.
It was used for the first time during World War II by the German Wehrmacht.
Blitzkrieg used new military technology like fast-moving tanks and motor vehicles, artillery and infantry along with aircraft and dive bombs.
