    Some Congressmen advised to forgive the war debts to prevent war.

    Explanation:

    War debt is defined a debt that is to be paid by a state or nation in order to carry on the war. US leaders in the 1920's hoped to keep the rest of the world at arm's length in order to prevent another war.

    United States of America was very keen in collecting the debts from the European Allies for the cash loans and goods given during World War I. this became a great issue during 1920.

    To handle this issue many congressmen advised to forgive the war debt to prevent from emerging of another war.
