Howard Carter (9 May 1874 - 2 March 1939) was a British paleologist and Egyptologist who became world-acclaimed subsequent to finding the unblemished burial place (assigned KV62) of the eighteenth Dynasty Pharaoh, Tutankhamun (conversationally known as "Ruler Tut" and "the kid lord"), in November 1922.
