Absurd Taxation on every item Imported and Exported to the Colonists.

    Explanation:

Great Britain, like France was broke after the Anglo-French War in which Britain spend much of its capital protecting their American colonies. As a result of this Britain needed a way to get all of their money back in a relatively short amount of time. Their solution to their money crisis was to Tax the colonies which they had protected from the French. Though taxing the colonies was acceptable not on the level at witch Britain had done it. They were adding taxes on all imported and exported items. The colonies finally snapped after the Stamp act which allowed any business to put a stamp onto any document and raise the paying amount. The colonies were fed up and refused to pay the stamp tax. This and many other acts led to the start of the American Revolution.
