Answer: two movements or migrations took place in the 15th century and 16th century. Both movements were immigration movements coming to Italy. One was coming from Spain (Jews) and the other one was coming from Byzantian empire (Greeks). Many of them were coming to Italy (Tuscany and other places). Both Greeks and Jews increased cosmpolitism Italian cities but also deepening academic knowledge. In Italy there was a concentration of the knowledge of that time.
Explanation: In 1467 kingdom of Aragon and kingdom of Castilia were united and when Arabian Granada was conquered (1492) all the Spain was united. Unification was supposed to be crowned by the expulsion of Jewish community (very educated and cosmopolitam with knowledge various language including Kabbalah and arabian language). Leaving Spain many of them were coming to Italy. In 1453 Constantinople was conquered by Seljuc Turks and Greeks had to escape ... usually to Italy. Among them Gemisthos Plethon who provided new translations of Plato. This stimulated renaissance movement in Italy.
