A new species is introduced into an ecosystem. It is highly successful,

and rapidly consumes much of the area's plant mass. How will this

affect the other plant-eating species in the area?

    Answer: There will be more competition between plant eating species, thus causing a decrease in the other species' population.

    Explanation: Since this new species is eating much of the areas plant mass, there will be less available for the other species that rely on this vegetation as food. Therefore, the population, at least in this area, will decrease. This is due to the fact that there will be less food.
