    The declarations are written vaguely enough to ultimately amount to just a moral code for the citizens and to give a jist of the constitution's ideals.

    Explanation:

    The Declaration of Independence announces many inalienable rights of the citizen of United States including Equality between men, civic duties and the pursuit of happiness.

    However, The equality between men was long from being truly achieved and the Declaration itself was not enough to prove the sanctity of the arguments for it in case of slavery.

    Because of the vagueness, it could be interpreted anyway and not really control the laws of the country. It only exists as a moral guide of the Constitution.
