Zhang's principal objections to democracy are as below: Democracy relies more on elections where it should also include the process of selection of government officials on the basis of merit. A democratic regime would never have been able to bring China's economy to where it is today given the fact that it is impossible to implement one sole thought in a democracy. Democracy is a way too weak type of governance to run a country like China given its expanse and population.
