The types of livestock used in pastoral societies are all herding herbivores, s: Frequent livestock raids by neighboring communities or among themselves. The animals are kept for subsistence, meat, milk and blood. Nomadic herders make use of natural pasture for grazing of their livestock. Normally practiced in areas with low and unreliable rainfall as sheep, buffalo, camels, reindeer, goats, or cattle. Nomadic pastoral-ism is a form of pastoral-ism when livestock are herded in order to find fresh pastures on which to graze. Strictly speaking, true nomads follow an irregular pattern of movement, in contrast with translucence where seasonal pastures are fixed.
