The day of the dead is a multi-day festival that starts on the 31st of October and ends on the 2nd of November. During that time people honor dead loved ones and celebrate death as part of life instead of fearing and dreading it. People celebrate it in Mexico and some areas of Latin America and the U. S.

    It was previously held during the summer until it was modified to coincide with Halloween, All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day all happening on October 31, November 1 and November 2 respectively.
