    The existence of three powers and the idea that there is a balance between them, so that each of the three exert a certain control over others is undoubtedly a characteristic of modern democracies.

    The executive, wich represents the federal government are responsive to administer and aprove the laws, in the federal sphere is represented by the president; while in the states, by the governor; there are the legislative assemblies, and in the municipalities, the chambers of Councilors.

    The executive mainly exerts the role of administering the State, taking care of its business, ensuring compliance with its laws, applying provisional measures, limited.

    The functions of the legislative, represents of the State, of course, is making laws is a function of the legislature, composed of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies.
