    In 1975, globalisation brought many changes to the American Automotive Industry. Globalisation brought in competition in the United States market. This happened because of the changing emissions standards. The American automobile industry had to adjust to the new emission standards and the fuel economy requirements of the Energy Policy and Conservation Act. The new requirements caused the Americans to lose their urge to invest in larger and higher output vehicles.
