The doctrine of the two wills of Jesus Christ is called Dyothelitism. According to it, Jesus has two wills, one as a human being and one as a divine being. It has relevant consequences for Christian theology. The champion of Dyothelitism is Maximus the Confessor, a monk, theologian and scholar who lived in the Byzantine Empire in the 6th-7th centuries.
