    The Seminole began to emerge in the 18th century with the coming of the different native Indian tribes as well as the runaway (escaped) slaves. The Natives were from the Lower Creek and Florida. The African Americans runaway slaves who came to settle in the small towns of Seminole were known as Black Seminole. The Seminole established their own identity in this new region with following their traditional rituals and practices. They traded with the Britishers and the Spanish.
