    Fresco is a techniques used in the mural paintings, it is done on wet lime plaster. Water is used to make the dry powdered colour to mix with the wet plaster and when the plaster dries it becomes an integral part of the the surface. The word Fresco is derived from Italian and it means fresh. This technique has been in used since ancient times and was revived during the Italian Renaissance. Minoan frescoes are some of the best Minoan civilisation artefacts still available.
