    There was a case of Dred Scott v the Stanford of the supreme court where the ruling of the supreme court went in the favor of Dred Scott. The result was that the slave owners had all the rights to take their slaves to the west. It gave powers to the slave owners and took away the right of liberty and sovereignty.

    The people who were against slavery were angry with this decision given by the supreme court. The ruling of the case negated the doctrine of popular sovereignty and it undermined the platform of the newly created republican part and it was severely undermined.
