What are the causes, key events, and effects of the European response to Islamic expansion in the 7th century?

The Islamist inhabitants began the expansion with the objective of conquering the Palestinian territory, Syria and Palestine. Another objective was to conquer the Persian Empire; the last to conquer was territory of Africa.
