    Period in Europe, from the 14th to the 17th century (1375-1527). Florence-center of the Renaissance, dominated by Medici family in 15th century Rome, believed that by studying the classics they could gain a better understanding of the human nature. The Renaissance scholars and artists were also called humanists.
