After winning the Punic Wars, Rome no longer had a more dangerous enemy. A robust military organization, an expert military personnel, contributed to the fact that the Roman army became the most powerful military force of its time. Rome was built on a slave-owning, free labour force. The great invasion campaigns brought a great deal of free labour to Rome. These slaves worked to build the infrastructure. But there were cases of slaves being fully Romanized, becoming equal citizens of Rome and contributing in some way to the development of rhyme. The Romans paid much attention to infrastructure. Roads and bridges were built in the most remote places of the Roman Empire. Much has been spent on infrastructure. It was constructed from the highest quality materials available.
