    The Jews believed the words that were registered in the Scriptures, which were God's revelations, prophecies and promises received by His chosen representatives, and spoken to the people and future generations. The great expectation they had was that the Messiah would come and restore the kingdom of God on earth. "On earth as it is in Heaven."
