How was the Phoenician system of writing similar to the cuneiform of the ancient

    Cuneiform used symbols to represent certain things or words. It was written into soft clay tablets using a wedge-shaped reed. It was very similar to hieroglyphics. The Phoenician alphabet was very similar, only it used symbols or letters to represent certain sounds.
