One of the impending cause or reasons for War of 1812 was the economic sanctions issued by the British Crown and the French empire against the America

These sanctions which were the part of Napoleonic Wars was the immediate cause whereas the circumstances started building up from the year 1806 when the American trade was crippled by the British orders in council issues in the year 1806. Further the Chesapeake incident that happened in the year 1807 also greatly contributed in the cause of this war as many American vessels were seized and impressed in the naval force by British Government.
