The Wellton 26 were known as a group of 26 Mexicans that attempted to move to the US through the Mexico-US border. Most of the Mexicans wanted a greener pasture for their families. They thought there would be better job opportunities if the move to the US. They trekked and walked along the 'Devil's Highway' that is known as the deadliest region in the Southern Arizona desert. Due to the adverse conditions of the desert, fourteen of the Mexican died on their way to the border.
