Khanbaliq ... Khanbaliq or Dadu was the capital of the Yuan dynasty, the main center of the Mongol Empire founded by Kublai Khan in what is now Beijing, also the capital of China today. It was located at the center of modern Beijing.

It was called Xanadu. Shangdu is another name given to it.
Explanation:
For a long time, there was no certainty as to where Kublai Khan's palace was located exactly. Some Chinese archeologists claimed in 2016 that they had discovered the remains of his palace in the area of the Forbidden City in Beijing.
