Sputnik was a very simple satellite as compared to the technology now. Sputnik's engineering design enabled it to send radio signals from space. This simple engineering was considered a marvel and a symbol of power for the Soviet Union by the entire world.
This led the US to rethink its technological innovation inputs and enact several reforms in the American education system to bring new ideas from younger minds. This led to increased funding in all education levels and the availability of easy loans for students. The main aim was to give higher importance in the field of science, technology and innovation.
