What was the original goal of the constitutional convention

Constitutional Convention of the United States was the period of intense discussion and debate about how it would be governed. The problem to repay the taxes and rebellion in the countryside (Shay's Rebellion) side led the forefather to rethink the laws that would govern the United States. The process was not easy as the early confederation ensures more power to states and thus restricting unity of the country. It was adopted on 17 September 1887 before distributed to states for ratification.
