In 2015, attackers targeted six locations throughout Paris,

France, using assault rifles and explosives to kill 130

people and wound hundreds more. The Islamic State of

Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the attacks, promising further bloodshed if France didn't

suspend airstrikes against ISIS targets in Syria.
