    Disenfranchised refers to a situation when a group of people were completely deprived of their right as a citizens.

    Since the abolishment of slavery in 1860s, it is still very hard for white citizens to acknowledge that the former slaves were an equal citizens just like them,

    This made the people in Georgia initiate a lot of effort to oppressed the African American community.

    For example They are discriminated in Job Search. Hiring African American as a worker could make a business goes bankrupt since the customers will turn away from that business.

    They also it really difficult for African Americans. They require an intelligence test and voting fee for every election. This eliminate large portion of African Americans voters since the majority of them couldn't fulfill at least one of these criteria.
