    Daniel Webster was against slavery.

    Explanation:

Daniel Webber in his famous three hour speech to the US senate, stated that though slavery was not acceptable, it could not be done away with in places where it has already been established, but it could be stopped from furthering in new US territories.

He also appealed that the escaped slaves should be returned to their southern owners.

He had mixed response from the masses to this speech, he was supported by the moderates on both the sides, but he faced opposition from the Northern owners.

Daniel Webber was known for his views for a strong federal government. He opposed the war of 1812 and asked for nullification.
