Answer: I believe that the answer to your question is C. Teresa of Avila

Explanation: Teresa of Avila was the key figure in the Counter - Reformation who founded many convents to promote education. Life in St. Joseph's was stricter and less comfortable than in many other convents and monasteries and that is how Teresa wanted it. She believed that worldly things distracted from prayer. Through prayer and suffering, she said, her sisters could come closer to understanding why Jesus Christ endured tortures on the cross. Once St. Joseph's was established, Teresa felt driven to establish more convents and monasteries throughout Spain. She moved from town to town, finding old buildings, befriending nuns and priests who shared her principles, and convincing wealthy citizens to fund her projects. Between 1567 and her death in 1582, Teresa traveled all over Spain. She founded more than a dozen new convents and monasteries. She wrote extensively about her life and beliefs. She was 66 years old when she set out through wintry weather to start a new convent in Burgos in northern Spain. She was 67 years old when she set out in the fall of 1582 to bless a newborn daughter of a generous duchess. By the time she reached the duchess' s town, she was near death. She blessed the baby and passed away in the arms of one of her dearest fellow nuns. Even those who doubted her visions recognized what she left behind which was an aspiring example of service and self - denial, a new religious order, and a fresh inspiration for the Catholic Church.
