    Explanation:

    In Hopi language "Hopi" means civilised person. The Hopis has been living in the northwestern Arizona for thousand of years. Earlier Hopi Indians had a theocratic government. The head priest of each village was called Kikmongwi and was the town chief. Even today the Hopi villages have the town chiefs but he only serves as a religious leader. The Hopi nation is presided over by an elected tribal council. Hopis live on a reservation. Although Hopis are US citizens and obey American law, but they also have their own laws, government, services and police.
