What does it mean that the colonies were more "democratic " than England?

    Democracy is pretty much using the peoples or citizens of the place's vote. So that way everyone can come to an agreement. This is what most of the first colonies would do. England however, were not a democracy type because they have a king and/or a queen. So the king and Queen would make all the decisions themselves.
