Do you think governments are justified in censoring war news? Why or why not?

I think there can be a specific situation when such censorship is acceptable: when they're protecting some secrets that if revealed would endanger people's lives (such as identity of the local translators). Otherwise, I think that war news should not be censored, as any censorship is a kind of manipulation.
